Samsung’s foldable smartphones dominate the market. So far, it’s still pretty quiet as far as information about the new Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 is concerned. However, rumors have been piling up lately. According to these, the new foldables do not bring any major innovations.
- Samsung foldable smartphone rumors surfaced.
- New camera setting on the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
- Better protection for the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
After the launch of the Galaxy S22 and the problems with throttling apps , Samsung fans are sure to be looking forward to new hardware. The presentation of the new Galaxy A series is already on March 17th . The update for the foldables, which is also due for this year, should be much more exciting. Here the first leaks give us a little idea of what we could be dealing with in the second half of the year.
Galaxy Z Flip 4 with some adjustments
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 shouldn’t have a camera under the display like we know from the Z Fold 3 . Instead, Samsung would like to continue to use a punch-hole notch for the inner display of the flip smartphone. The sobering success of the 4-megapixel selfie camera in the brother model was probably the main reason for this decision. In addition, such a design decision is also far cheaper than hiding the camera under the display.
Previous rumors otherwise give little information about the new smartphone. There should only be slight improvements to the panels and the battery. The leakers only expect a significant upgrade for the main camera, but without becoming precise. It is also possible that the Galaxy Z Flip 4 will also be offered at a relatively low price.
Galaxy Z Fold 4 becomes more robust
A past render leak already showed that the new Galaxy Fold could have a slot for the S Pen. Samsung wants to follow the trend that the company started with the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra . The Note series is dead, so the South Koreans want to house the S Pen elsewhere.
There are also rumors that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will come with a further improved “ultra thin glass” design. The improvement provides better protection against scratches and minimized fall damage. This should make the foldable much more suitable for everyday use than its predecessor.
All in all, the rumors are quite sobering. It seems as if Samsung is holding back quite a bit when it comes to innovations with the next generation of foldables. Why not? As the saying goes: “Never change a running system”.
