Foldable smartphones are a trend that is gaining increasing attention. In a recent blog post by Pete Lau, product manager at Oppo and CEO of OnePlus, the new Oppo Find N is teased. It is Oppo’s first foldable and is set to be launched on December 15, 2021.

Oppo ‘s new foldable smartphone is set to be released on the second day of Inno Day next week. In his blog post, Pete Lau admits that Oppo is very late in following the trend. However, he also says that the lack of services, low durability and user experience have been problems with foldable smartphones so far . Oppo presented the first prototype back in 2019 and has been working on it ever since to bring the first device to market.
The first prototype had a single display surrounding the smartphone. The new Find N should now have a large screen inside, as well as a slightly smaller display on the back. Oppo is apparently working on an alternative to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 . According to Lau, Oppo’s goal is to establish a smartphone that not only has a beautiful design and feels good in the hand, but is also easy to use.
Find N will be out soon
Since Oppo unveiled the first prototype in 2018, six more prototypes have been developed. The Find N is intended to be the culmination of this process. For Oppo, Lau says, it’s more important that a device is well-crafted than jumping on every trend. This delayed development, but the Find N should offer users a special experience.
